Summary of film

Warning: Spoiler Alert

• The beginning on the film began with members of the crew meeting and going aboard.
• As the boot leaves they are met with a bunch of people cheering
• The lieutenant gets a tour of the tiny boat
• They encounter a destroyer and manage to escape while also taking out two of their ships
• After one of their mates had a breakdown(crazy guy) they are sent to dock and instead of returning to their port they go to the Mediterranean.

• While there they refuel and get supplies, such as bananas
• After that they encounter more enemy ships and end up sinking to 280m, which is the very high pressure
• They do what they can try and float but it fails and they end up on the ocean floor
• During that time the pressure was so great bolts started to burst again and piles broke creating a huge hush of water and many leaks
• Eventually they plug the holes and try to remove the water, and they discover that the radio is broken and the likelihood of resurfacing in unlikely
• They have 1.8% oxygen left since they blew their tanks and have one chance to try and resurface
• They almost all wear oxygen masks and when they don’t they are panting
• The evaluation is it’ll be able to exacute the plan in 5-6 hours when repairs are done. But why 16hours the captain has given up.
• Eventually the repair guy manages to fix everything and prepare for blowing the tanks in hopes of escaping
• they blow the tanks and the boat doesn’t move for awhile and eventually begins rising
• The boat does reach the surface allowing the men fresh air to rush in
• They then try the engine and by a miracle it works
• Crazy guy is still crazy
• The Germans then began rushing full speed towards the Brits trying to catch them off guard
• The scene cuts to the crew celebrating and cheering that they’ll returning home.
• Once returning to port they are greeted by spectators for their victory
• Once people are getting off the boat, the port begins to be bombed
• All the men are now in bad shape if they weren’t already
• Red head then returns and discovers his friend dead
• The Uboat then sinks
